History

AMPED ON ALGEBRA

In 2005, Scott Burke and Tom Moore teamed together to develop a contextualized mathematics and Career and Technical Education (CTE) course.  After spending sixteen months in development, the Geometry in Construction program was successfully launched with a cohort of 80 students.  Since the inaugural year, thousands of students have benefitted from learning how mathematics is used in Geometry in Construction AMPED on Algebra are in over 700+ high schools combined.

Current projects include:

  • We continue to teach the AMPED on Algebra Program as well as Geometry in Construction in Colorado.
  • Aiding other school districts in the successful replication of the Geometry in Construction program.
  • Leading training opportunities in contextual lesson development.

Where are we going?

Continue to lead, facilitate, and add to the curriculum for AMPED on Algebra and Geometry in Construction with the hopes of creating the AMPED on Algebra 2 program in the coming years.
